MTL 16 – Event Review & Results

MTL’s debut at the Eatons Hill Hotel delivered across the board, showcasing twelve action-packed fights and a standout atmosphere for Brisbane fight fans.

In the main event, Victoria’s Ramesh Habib reminded everyone why he remains one of Australia’s elite Welterweights. Across five dominant rounds, Habib controlled the pace and shut down the dangerous Cassidy Harberfield, earning a convincing points decision.

The Heavyweight semi-main event brought pure power as “Ice Cold” Jesse Astill proved too strong for Victoria’s Visesio Saina. Astill’s pressure and composure over three rounds secured him a well-earned decision victory.

Brisbane’s own Harry McIntyre returned for his seventh appearance on MTL and delivered what many called the fight of the night. In a wild, back-and-forth war with the Gold Coast’s Lucas Zions, “Dirty” Harry pushed the pace from the opening bell. After two furious rounds, McIntyre broke through in the third, scoring a TKO stoppage to claim the inaugural MTL Middleweight Title.
