2024 Male Fighter Of The Year – Max McVicker
In 2024, Max McVicker shined on the world stage, Representing Australia in the 2024 RWS Welterweight Tournament. He competed in 6 fights, securing 4 wins and 2 losses, both of which came against Rajadamnern champions.
Max kicked off his year in March with an impressive debut at RWS, defeating the experienced Thai fighter, Yodkompatak.
In May, Max faced Ukraine’s champion Rostyslav Herasymenko and claimed victory, shortly after which he was announced as a participant in the stacked 2024 RWS Welterweight Tournament.
In June, the 2024 RWS tournament began, and Max’s first opponent was Rajadamnern champion Yodwicha, resulting in a tough loss.
The highly anticipated matchup with former World Champion Sajad Sattari came to fruition in August, with Max claiming the decision win over the Iranian fighter.
September saw Max face Hercules, the eventual winner of the RWS Tournament, resulting in another loss for the Australian.
In November, Max returned home to Australia for the Empire Fight Series event, where he faced James Sinbi and took home the decision win, ending the year on a positive note.
2024 Female Fighter Of The Year – Shannon Gardiner
In 2024, Shannon remained a dominant force in Muay Thai scene, defending her WBC World Title, defeating top-ranked contenders, and maintaining an undefeated professional record with 3 wins from 3 fights.
Her year began in February with a successful defence of her WBC World Super Featherweight title, where she triumphed over Italy’s World Ranked #2, Lena Nocker, at MTGP.
In August, Shannon faced off with World Ranked #3, Diandra Martin, in one of the most highly anticipated domestic female bouts of recent years. Shannon came out on top, claiming a points victory.
In November, Shannon squared off against Scotland’s World Ranked #2, Judy Humber, and secured another points decision win, cementing her position as one of the sport’s best.
In addition to her professional victories, Shannon represented Australia at the 2024 IFMA Games, earning a silver medal and also participated in a Muay Thai exhibition in Paris
2024 Fight Of The Year – Albert Tuua Vs Rodlek
The highly anticipated international clash between Australia’s electrifying Albert Tu’ua and ONE veteran Rodlek delivered on all fronts at Muay Thai League 12.
The bout was a spectacle of grit and skill, with Rodlek dropping Tu’ua in the opening round with a crisp right hook. Undeterred, Tu’ua rallied in the later rounds, showcasing his dynamic skill set with stunning jumping knees and spinning back elbows, which opened a cut on Rodlek.

In 2024, Rebellion Muay Thai solidified its reputation as a premier force in Australian Muay Thai, delivering another exceptional year of events. The promotion hosted three marquee shows alongside four Roots preliminary cards, welcomed Muay Thai legends to Australian soil, and made history with the landmark “Road to Rajadamnern” event in August. Additionally, Rebellion secured a broadcasting deal with 7plus, elevating its production and expanding its reach.
2024 Knockout Of The Year – Albert Tuua KO Petch Sitmonchai
“Baby Yod” Albert Tuua showcased his explosive talent with a stunning jump knee knockout against Petch Sitmonchai at Hardcore Promotions.
Claiming back-to-back KO Of The Year victories, Albert continues to prove why he’s one of Australia’s most exciting and must-watch fighters.
2024 Female Rising Star Of The Year – Megan Quin
Training out of Supafight Gym in Victoria, Megan Quin had a breakout year in 2024. Making her professional debut in March against the experienced Nong Bee, Megan showcased her determination by bouncing back from her initial loss to secure four straight victories. Her impressive performances earned her a spot in the Hardcore Super 8 Tournament, featuring Australia’s top female fighters, where she made it to the semi-finals.

James Kostic has had a stellar breakout year in 2024, training out of SRG Thaiboxing Gym. After turning professional late in 2023, James kicked off his year securing victory in his international professional debut at the iconic Rajadamnern Stadium on RWS MuayThai, where he defeated Petchmedmai.
He continued his momentum throughout the year, racking up a total of seven fights with a record of 5 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. James faced both domestically and international opportunities opponents, solidifying his reputation as one of the country’s rising stars.
