Introducing the 2025 Aus MuayThai Fighter of the Year: Josh King
2025 was a standout year for Josh King, as he dominated on Australian soil before making a powerful statement on the international stage with RWS Muay Thai. Remaining undefeated with five wins from five fights, Josh extended his winning streak to an impressive 12 consecutive victories.
He opened his campaign in April with a successful RWS Muay Thai debut, defeating Patrik Szana. In May, Josh returned home to headline Alliance Fight Promotion 4, where he overcame former ONE Championship veteran Rodlek in the main event.
July saw Josh return to the iconic Rajadamnern Stadium, delivering a standout performance with a round-two KO over Thailand’s The Star on RWS Muay Thai. In September, he headlined Eruption Muay Thai 25, showcasing his trademark power with a first-round knockout of French contender Nassim Ben Faleh.
In November, Josh made history as the first Australian to headline RWS Muay Thai, closing out his year with an impressive decision victory over Iran’s Mohammad Sadeghi.
Josh finished 2025 ranked 11th at Rajadamnern Stadium and 7th in the WBC World Super Lightweight rankings, firmly cementing his status as one of the world’s elite.

Introducing the 2025 Aus MuayThai Female Fighter of the Year: Shannon Gardiner
Shannon Gardiner delivered an outstanding 2025 campaign, extending her unbeaten run with a perfect 4–0 record, including the successful defence of her WBC World Title and three dominant victories on RWS Muay Thai.
Her year kicked off in March with an impressive RWS debut, defeating Germany’s Linda Faysal at Rajadamnern Stadium. In May, Gardiner returned to the iconic venue to secure another victory, this time over Thailand’s Hongthong KorPrasertGym.
August saw Shannon produced a third-round TKO over the Netherlands’ Maria Belen Mode on RWS Muay Thai. She then closed out her year back on home soil in Perth, Western Australia, successfully defending her WBC World Title against Scotland’s Claire Rankine in October.
A flawless year at the highest level, Shannon Gardiner firmly cemented her place among the elite of world Muay Thai.

The standout bout of 2025 delivered everything fans could ask for, as Moey “187” Dahlan and Jack Matthews went head-to-head in a relentless five-round battle for the WBC Australian Super Lightweight Title.
Sydney’s Dahlan clashed with Victoria’s Matthews at the 1774 Muay Thai Series – 14th Edition, producing a high-intensity, hard-fought contest that showcased elite Australian Muay Thai at its best.
From the opening bell, both athletes pushed the pace with non-stop action, igniting an electric atmosphere inside the William Inglis Hotel, Sydney, and leaving a lasting mark on the 2025 fight season.

Introducing the 2025 Aus MuayThai Promotion of the Year: 1774 Muay Thai Series
In 2025, 1774 Muay Thai Series delivered an outstanding year, consistently producing Australia’s biggest and most competitive domestic matchups. Across multiple editions, 1774 showcased the depth of Australian Muay Thai talent with stacked fight cards and championship bouts spanning WBC World, International, National, and State titles, including the 2025 Fight of the Year.
The year began in February with the 12th Edition, headlined by the most anticipated Australian vs Australian matchups of 2025, as Josh McCulloch faced Ibrahim Abou Saleh for the WBC Australian Title. The co-main event featured the biggest domestic women’s bout of the year, with world champion Zoe Putorak taking on Katie Mitchell for the WBC World Title.
In August, the 13th Edition was led by Australia’s WBC World Champion Charlie Bubb, who defended his title against WMO World Champion Daniel Bonner, while Katie Rose Mitchell claimed the WBC International Title with a victory over Brit Weirich.
October’s event delivered another standout night, highlighted by the now 2025 Aus MuayThai Fight of the Year, as Moey Dahlan faced Jack Matthews for the WBC Australian Super Lightweight Title.

Taksinlek 168 delivered one of the most memorable moments of 2025, stunning the Muay Thai world in Melbourne at Road To Rajadamnern x Rebellion. In a jaw-dropping first round, Taksinlek floored French Muay Thai legend Damien Alamos with a perfectly timed, devastating elbow.
A highlight-reel finish on Australian soil that captured global attention and earned its place as Knockout of the Year.
Introducing the 2025 Aus MuayThai Gym of the Year: SRG Thaiboxing Gym
Sydney-based SRG Thaiboxing Gym delivered an outstanding 2025, producing consistent success both domestically and on the international stage, and securing multiple titles throughout the year.
Among the standout achievements, SRG star James Kostic recorded multiple victories overseas on RWS MuayThai, while also claiming the 1774 MuayThai Title on home soil.
Cale Wild captured the WBC Australian Featherweight Title on MTL and followed it up with an impressive victory at Rajadamnern Stadium on RWS MuayThai.
Allegra Vickas added to the gym’s accolades with her WMC Australian Title win in the 2025 Female Fight of the Year against Brittany Thomas on SRG Promotions.
As well as succesfull RWS Muay Thai debut victories for Adam Kaewphaluek & Dori Duncan.

Introducing the 2025 Aus MuayThai Female Rising Star of the Year: Jessie Wong
Training out of PTJ MuayThai Gym (Sydney), Jessie Wong delivered a standout breakout year in 2025. After making her professional debut late in 2024, Jessie entered her first full year as a professional and went undefeated, finishing the season with 3 fights, 3 wins, and closing the year as a WMC Australian Champion.
Following appearances at the MTA Nationals and the IFMA World Championships in Turkey, Jessie kicked off her 2025 professional campaign in September with a win over Rachael Parish on Eruption Muay Thai.
She then made her international professional debut in October, securing an impressive victory at Thai University in Bangkok.
Jessie capped off her year on the Sunshine Coast, defeating the experienced Skylah Hamill to claim the WMC Professional Australian Bantamweight Title, marking a major milestone in her rising career.
With momentum firmly on her side, 2026 shapes up to be a big year for one of Australia’s most promising young talents.
At just 18 years old, Denzel Thakun delivered a standout breakout year in 2025. After becoming the youngest Australian to compete on RWS MuayThai in December 2024, Denzel carried that momentum into 2025 with an impressive four wins from five fights.
He opened the year in spectacular fashion, recording three consecutive knockout victories on RWS MuayThai, with highlight-reel finishes that quickly gained traction across Muay Thai social media.
In August, Denzel returned to Australia to compete at MTL 15, where he faced Ben Wilson in an action-packed bout, earning a well-deserved decision victory.
Finishing 2025 with a record of 5 fights, 4 wins, and 3 knockouts, Denzel Thakun has firmly established himself as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging talents.
