Gold Coast’s premier Muay Thai promotion hits a milestone as War On The Shore arrives at its 25th instalment, touching down at the Star Casino on the iconic Glitter Strip. From world title warfare at the top of the bill to ranking battles throughout the card, delivering a stacked night of high-level Australian and international action.

Main Event | WMO World Middleweight Championship

James “Sweet As” Honey vs. Joe Craven

Headlining the event, Australia’s reigning WMO World Middleweight Champion James “Sweet As” Honey makes the first defence of his crown against the UK’s #1 contender Joe Craven in a high-stakes international clash.

Training out of Strikeforce Gym, Honey looks to make history as the first Australian male to defend a WMO World Title, after capturing the belt against England’s Josh Hill in Mackay in August 2025. Eight months on, Honey steps back into the ring for his 50th professional fight, doing so in front of a home crowd on the Gold Coast.

Standing across from him is Joe Craven, the UK’s #1 ranked contender from the renowned Bad Company Gym in Leeds. A former ISKA World Middleweight Champion, Craven enters the bout determined to reclaim world championship gold.

Josh King vs. Kobe “SRG” Sandilands

Josh King – Crowned 2025 AUS MuayThai Fighter of the Year Josh King returns for his first outing of 2026 riding one of the hottest streaks in the country, taking on Sydney’s Kobe “SRG” Sandilands. Sandilands accepted the bout on late notice and is known for stepping up against top opposition, bringing a dangerous challenge to one of Australia’s most in form fighters.

King comes into the bout off a standout 2025 campaign, going a perfect 5–0 for the year, including three standout wins on RWS Muay Thai. Now riding a 12-fight win streak, the Gold Coast product will look to continue his momentum against the heavy-handed Sandilands.

Australian Super Lightweight Rankings Clash

Jye “The Honeybee” Van Polen vs. Jaga Chan

One of the most anticipated matchups on the card carries serious ranking implications. WMO Australian Super Lightweight Champion Jye “The Honeybee” Van Polen — out of Mackay, North Queensland — has built a reputation as a man who is simply never in a dull fight. His relentless pressure and exciting style have made him a fan favourite, and he arrives looking to assert his dominance at the top of the division.

Waiting for him is Jaga Chan of the Gold Coast’s Strikeforce Gym — a multiple-time champion boasting over 30 professional bouts. Chan fights in his own backyard tonight, with plenty to prove against the champion, and the depth of his experience cannot be overlooked. With Australian Super Lightweight rankings on the line, this clash has all the makings of a card-stealing performance from both men.

About War On The Shore

War On The Shore is one of Australia’s longest-running Muay Thai promotions, first launching in 2005 and becoming a staple of the Gold Coast Muay Thai fight scene.

Over the years, the promotion has showcased some of Australia’s top names, including Bruce “Preacher” Macfie, Aaron Leigh, Ben “Pixie” Burton, Danny Derdowski, and Frank Giorgi, alongside international talent such as Damien Trainer, Kampan Santafeesook, and Wimberdon.

After a 10-year hiatus, War On The Shore returned in 2022 and has since re-established itself as one of the country’s premier Muay Thai events, featuring stars such as Chadd Collins, Kim Townsend, and James Honey.
