Pride Fight Series IX Results: Jaga Chan Claims WMC Australian Title
South Australia’s biggest Muay Thai event returned in style as a sold-out Harts Mill in Port Adelaide played host to Pride Fight Series IX, featuring some of Australia’s top talent and a WMC Australian title headliner.
The main event saw Gold Coast standout Jaga Chan travel into enemy territory to face hometown favourite Nick Keros for the WMC Australian Super Lightweight Title (63.5kg).
In a high-level contest between two of Australia’s leading super lightweights, Chan produced a composed and technical performance across five rounds to earn a unanimous decision victory over the returning Keros. The win marks one of the biggest victories of Chan’s career and sees him add the WMC Australian Title to his growing list of achievements.
The Strikeforce Gym representative entered the bout with momentum following his first-round stoppage victory over Jye Van Polen and now further strengthens his position among Australia’s elite super lightweights.
In the co-feature bout, Adelaide’s Jack Spacie continued his impressive rise, defeating experienced Thai fighter Jimmie Sitmonchai via decision. Fresh off capturing the WMC State Title at the promotion’s previous event, Spacie delivered another strong performance against international opposition in what was widely considered the toughest test of his career to date.
Another local standout emerged in Tariq Luckens, who secured a significant victory over North Queensland’s Caleb “The Inspector” Curley. Luckens showcased his skill and composure across three rounds to earn the decision win and continue his development as one of South Australia’s rising talents.
Elsewhere on the card, former WBC Australian Champion Jason Scott returned to the winner’s circle with a decision victory over Mohammad Zaid, while Mattheus Plamenac recorded the only stoppage of the evening with a knockout victory over Clint Indelicato.
With a packed crowd, a national title fight, and strong performances from both established names and emerging prospects, Pride Fight Series IX once again delivered another memorable night for South Australian Muay Thai.
