Muay Thai Super Series 3 Results: Shannon Gardiner Defends World Title

Western Australian Muay Thai fans were treated to a massive night of elite action as Muay Thai Super Series returned to the Mike Barnett Sports Complex in Rockingham, featuring seven WBC title bouts and a stacked lineup of Australia’s top fighters.

In the main event, Australia’s WBC World Champion Shannon Gardiner continued her dominant form, successfully defending her WBC World Title for the second time. Gardiner defeated Scotland’s World #1 Claire Rankine via unanimous decision, closing out an incredible year — four fights, four wins, with three of those victories coming on RWS Muay Thai in Thailand.

The co-main event for the WBC International Super Flyweight Title delivered five thrilling rounds of world class Muay Thai. Western Australia’s Fon Piggot, currently WBC World Ranked #12, battled Thailand’s Somsurat Rangkla to a majority draw, with judges unable to split the two after a close contest.

Strikeforce Gym’s Bryony Soden cemented her position as Australia’s #1 Super Bantamweight, defeating Queensland’s Amanda Juniku in a technical five-round war between the two former WBC International Champions.

Perth’s Courtney Lockley proved her first victory was no fluke, defeating Victoria’s Erin Carter once again to claim the WBC Australian Lightweight Title. The 22-year-old standout is now undefeated at 15-0, marking a phenomenal year since returning to competition in late 2024.

Rising WA star Reece Corrigan continued his momentum with a statement win over former champion Anthony “Sniper” Gilbert, capturing the WBC Australian Super Lightweight Title in front of his home crowd.
