Hugh O’Donnell first Australian to fight for Lumpinee title

Hugh O’Donnell is set to make history as the first Australian to compete for the Lumpinee Stadium belt.

On Sunday, 8th December 2024 on the Lumpinee Stadium Birthday event, Hugh will face Thailand’s Kom Komphikart at 168 pounds (76KG)

The Former Australian Champion O’Donnell left Australia to fully immerse himself in Muay Thai & has since racked up 7 fights in the last 7 months training out of Sinbi Muay Thai Gym in Phuket, taking his professional record to a total of 31 Fights. Now he’s been presented with a remarkable opportunity to compete for the belt.

Many Australian’s have fought at Lumpinee Stadium, With John Wayne Parr being the first ever Australian to compete at Lumpinee Stadium.

In 2019 it was announced Chadd Collins was set to fight Brazilian Luis Cajaiba for the Lumpinee Belt but later fell through for unknown reasons.
