Australia’s #1 Middleweight crowned! Eruption Muay Thai 24: EVENT RECAP
Brisbane’s Eagles Sports Complex was the battleground for a thrilling showcase of Australia’s top Muay Thai fighters this past Friday night, featuring a headline clash for supremacy in the Australian Middleweight Division.
Queensland’s own James “Sweet As” Honey squared off against Canberra’s David Pennimpede in a highly anticipated rematch from last year’s Rise 4 Man Finale. Over five rounds of technical Muay Thai, the two warriors engaged in a fierce battle.
In a closely contested bout, David Pennimpede emerged victorious, reclaiming the coveted #1 Middleweight spot in Australian Muay Thai with a split points decision win over James Honey. Pennimpede’s next challenge awaits as he faces the formidable UK star Joe Ryan for the WMO World Middleweight Title in July, set to take place on Powerhouse Promotions in Mackay, North Queensland.
In the evening’s semi-main event, Thai veteran Diesellek MSP Muay Thai made a triumphant return to the ring, securing a split points decision victory over Nick “TNT” Trask.
Brisbane Muay Thai sensation Kane Singleton marked his comeback to the ring after a three-year hiatus with a stellar performance, defeating North QLD veteran Ryan McDonald via unanimous points decision.
